There should be continues or checkpoints though, I have yet to get through the black hole level, and you start to lose interest after playing the same level 3 times

Nightcrawler is suppose to look like that, he's suppose to look like a pet, it would be just creepy to be playing with a middle-aged man, but maybe that's what he likes.
